The expedition is dedicated to the 210th anniversary of the MNS and the 80th anniversary of E. Hemingway’s The Snows of Kilimanjaro. In October 2015, the Society’s members, backed by the Novoe Sobranie, set on an anniversary expedition to Tanzania, whereby they will climb Africa’s highest summit of Kilimanjaro (5786m Uhuru peak).
The expedition is named after Ernest Hemingway’s The Snows of Kilimanjaro, a book celebrating its 80th anniversary the next year. The goal of the expedition is to shoot a popular science documentary on Kilimanjaro glacier retreats.
